Outside Advertising Sales Executive

ADVERTISING ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE -- The Daily Californian, the 10K independent UC Berkeley newspaper that covers the campus and the city, is looking for an Outside Sales Advertising Account Executive. Responsibilities include taking over existing accounts and establishing new accounts. The Account Executive will work to develop ways to monetize digital, particularly social networking, opportunities. The Account Executive should be a person who thrives in a fast-paced setting surrounded by students at one of the nation's top universities. The position affords the Account Executive access to a network of university and Bay Area media and business contacts. Qualified applicants should have print and digital sales experience, knowledge of the 18-24-year-old demographic and experience in Bay Area media sales, plus QuickBooks and Redbooks skills.  $24K base, with a 6- month commission guarantee pool of $6,000. $300 monthly insurance allowance. $100 monthly parking allowance plus 51 cents per mile.  Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.  Send cover letter and resume to search@dailycal.org

 

OUTSIDE SALES MANAGER -- The Daily Californian, the 10K independent UC Berkeley newspaper that covers the campus and the city, is looking for an Advertising Sales Manager. Responsibilities include employing a leadership style that motivates a sales team composed of three professional sales staff and four student interns. The Outside Sales Manager will develop and manage annual revenue goals for print, digital, and new product development objectives. We are looking for someone with vision to help develop and monetize new print and digital, particularly social networking, campaigns.  The Manager should be a person who thrives in a fast-paced setting surrounded by students at one of the nation's top universities. The position is responsible for connecting with a network of university and Bay Area media and business contacts. Qualified applicants should have some advertising management experience, print and digital sales experience, knowledge of the 18-24-year-old demographic and experience in Bay Area media sales, plus QuickBooks and Redbooks skills. $40K base, with sales commission plus annual 10% bonus program. $300 monthly insurance allowance. $100 monthly parking allowance plus 51 cents per mile. Send cover letter and resume to search@dailycal.org
